সভাপতি ছাড়াই চলছে ইসলামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ইবি) অর্থনীতি বিভাগ। অধ্যাপক ড. আবদুল মুঈদ সভাপতি পদ থেকে পদত্যাগপত্র জমা দেওয়ার পর প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে কোনো জবাব না এলেও তাঁর দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন না বলে জানা গেছে। ফলে বিভাগের ক্লাস ও অফিস কার্যক্রমে চরম স্থবিরতা দেখা দিয়েছে।

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ঢাবি) উপ-উপাচার্য বা প্রো-ভিসি (প্রশাসন) পদে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজকল্যাণ ও গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউটের অধ্যাপক ড. মুহাম্মদ সামাদ। আজ রোববার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আখতারুজ্জামান বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
